It is a compact and sturdy plant for the front zone of the aquarium. Its closest relative is Hygrophila, but it differs with its distinctly compact appearance and low bushy stature with small green leaves.
When planting it in the aquarium, the larger stems should be trimmed, and new horizontal stems will soon form. These "creeping" stems will form the base of the plant and will gradually spread across the substrate.
