The iFi Audio iSilencer filter/isolator removes electrical noise that can distort the audio signal on the network. Its advanced filtering reduces interference in the digital signal, while the network transformer provides complete electrical isolation. The TVS surge suppressor protects against spikes and transient voltages.

The shielded enclosure with an integrated ground wire helps limit external interference and packet loss, contributing to stable signal transmission. It connects using standard RJ45 Ethernet cables between the broadband router and the network audio player, and supports Gigabit Ethernet without speed restrictions.

    Although it doesn't catch your eye - it looks like a large USB stick - it does the job!! It was plugged into the Ethernet port of a fanless PC dedicated exclusively to audio that runs JRiver* with FLAC/HiRes files and we truly "saw the true light"! Because I was afraid I was imagining things, I did an A/B test with familiar tracks and concluded that it is more than a decent device and it makes a difference. Everything plays cleaner, more focused, and a bit more "human." Most importantly, I notice a black background behind and around the music that wasn't there before. Apparently, there was noise in its place...
    Highly recommended for any audio device connected via Ethernet such as PC, streamers, etc.
