The Kronos 11-01 level controller detects the presence of water via a circuit that closes when the motor ground is connected to the electrode through the pipe and water. It has a 2 min start-up delay to confirm that water is present after a power outage, and a 4 sec stop delay to prevent momentary interruptions.
When the pipe between the pump and the electrode is plastic, the electrode tee is grounded and positioned so that it will not continue to get wet in the event of a water outage.
