Satire has been present in all the difficult periods of the Greeks, especially in tough times. It served as a redemptive means and a way to express indignation, as well as the self-mockery of the Nation.

During the Greco-Italian war, the hunger of the Occupation, and the Dictatorship of '67, political satire was more than just critical. Here we gather some of the finest contemporary jokes and anecdotes from the Memorandum era we are living through, which have recently circulated in Greece, and we record them as testimonies of shame for those responsible for the situations we face.
