And here I must mention Theodoros Terzopoulos, an unmatched director and theater figure, who for many years held the artistic direction of the Ancient Drama Meetings,” notes Helena Averill, chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Delphi Center, in the book's preface.

For more than two decades, Delphi has functioned as a meeting, exchange, and fermentation space for different opinions on ancient drama, bringing into contact and familiarizing the Greek audience with the theatrical tradition and interpretative codes of other cultures. Primarily, they encouraged a constant dialogue between different theatrical traditions, methods, and schools, sometimes conflictual, and ultimately constructive and very positive.

In the Ancient Stadium of Delphi (and later at the Frynicos Theater), legendary names of world theater direct: Tadashi Suzuki, Robert Wilson, Andrzej Wajda, Yuri Lyubimov, Anatoli Vasiliev, Tony Harrison, as well as Karolos Koun, Michalis Kakoyiannis, Giannis Tsarouchis, Spyros Evangelatos, Theodoros Terzopoulos, among others. Among the leading actors are Alla Demidova, Vanessa Redgrave, Min Tanaka, Kayoko Shiraishi, Margit Carstensen, Gotz Argus, Giorgos Lazanis, Mimis Kouyoumtzis, Aspasia Papathanasiou, Anna Synodinos, Despina Bebedeli, Lydia Koniordou, Reni Pittaki, Sofia Michopoulou, and others.

At the symposiums, at the Delphi Conference Center, participants include Catherine Clement, Christa Wolf, Heiner Muller, Giannis Kounellis, Etel Adnan, Oliver Taplin, Marianne McDonald, James Diggle, Dimitris Maronitis, Fanis Kakridis, Giorgos Chimonas, Helena Varopoulou, among others. Among them are three Nobel Laureates in Literature: Seamus Heaney, Dario Fo, and Wole Soyinka.

The publication Ancient Drama in Delphi is primarily a systematic recording, documentation, and presentation of all the actions over the fourteen.
