The Hoya Starscape filter reduces light pollution from artificial city lights, such as sodium and mercury-vapor lamps, during night photography. It limits yellowish and greenish color casts, helping render natural colors and improve contrast in the night sky, without color shift when used with wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle lenses.
It is suitable for night landscapes, aurora photography, and time-lapse. It does not completely filter out light from sodium and mercury-vapor lamps or all unwanted light-pollution spectra.
