Description

mέta series / Center for Post-Capitalist Culture

1st edition: March 2023

What kind of world will we live in? What era is dawning before us? We are experiencing the swan song of a global order and the beginning of a new macrohistorical cycle.

In light of the war in Ukraine and the pandemic crisis, this book outlines the formation of a new planetary order and examines the completion of three different and partly overlapping historical cycles: the post-Cold War order (1991-), the post-war world (1945-), and a significant epoch in human history (19th century-), the Age of the Great Divergence.

By the middle of the 21st century, with the year 2037 as a milestone, the three historical cycles that have defined the classes, the world, and the era of the last two centuries will have been completed: the great divergence will have closed.

From history to political geography, from the culmination of the American hegemonic period to the return of Asia, from technology to demographics, and from modernity to post-secularization, the book attempts an anatomy of long-range developments, aiming to serve as a tool for understanding the world-historical transformations occurring at the threshold of the end of one era and the beginning of a new macrohistorical cycle.

Incomprehensible concepts and words that do not help in understanding the subject matter discussed in the book. The author tries to write in a complex manner, probably to give a sense of scientificity to what he wants to present. Unfortunately, I did not want to finish it as it seemed to me that it constantly repeats the same things in all the chapters.
