The assignment of homework poses a major problem for Greek schools, as our country ranks among the top positions worldwide regarding the study time students spend at home. Most parents in Greece consider homework as an absolutely given educational practice, as a "necessary evil," from which they cannot refrain.
The phrase in the title "What do we have for tomorrow?" is indicative of this perception among parents. On an international level, disagreements and claims are expressed by parents and their associations due to the problems they face at home with school assignments. In Greece, on the contrary, the issue does not appear in public discourse. It remains within the private sphere, where any reactions are vented.
The purpose of this book is to contribute to the development of a substantive public dialogue, so that the identified weaknesses and problems of homework can be highlighted and the voices of parents, who struggle daily and find it difficult to meet their increasingly demanding expectations, can be heard.
