The generalization of new technologies, particularly digital technologies, has opened new horizons for interactive ways of teaching and learning. However, without appropriate equipment, a suitable internet connection, and proper training to shape interactive pedagogical practices and create appropriate multimodal educational materials, they cannot be creatively utilized.
The inappropriate integration of digital technologies leads to the exacerbation of social discrimination. It is time to shift towards educational research and documentation as prerequisites for shaping educational policy. It is also important for educational policy to be designed in such a way that equality is guaranteed within the educational system.
The new educational inequalities impose policies of positive discrimination. Policies of positive discrimination have been applied in Greece for many years through various programs with significant success, yet they have not been adopted as established practices. Today, it is essential to turn towards such educational policies to ensure social justice and equality in education.
These are some of the key findings and research proposals that emerged during the Covid-19 pandemic.
