The ES 165 K2 kit consists of two 6½" (165 mm) woofers and features very high sensitivity (92.8 dB/oct). The speakers in the ES 165 K2 kit come with the famous yellow Kevlar® cones of the K2 Power series. Lightweight, rigid, and with excellent damping, they provide extremely dynamic sound and perfect definition. Combined with the new TMD suspension, there is no distortion. The sound spectrum is enhanced by the phase plug in the center of the cone, which broadens the sound dispersion around the vehicle.

The high notes are reproduced by the two TKM speakers with inverted aramid fiber 'M'-shaped cones, equipped with high-fidelity bi-amplified crossovers. The high frequencies (up to 22 kHz) are reproduced perfectly, smoothly, and accurately.

KEVLAR® CONE / PRECISION AND DYNAMICS

The speakers used for the K2 Power have been completely redesigned. Every element is the result of extensive acoustic research to push the limits of performance, power, and precision. The Kevlar® cone of the K2 Power, a product of unique expertise Made In Focal, is now superior to any other. It consists of a super-light foam structure, which is placed between thin layers of Kevlar® aramid fiber and glass, combining three key acoustic quality factors: Rigidity, Lightness, Damping, for precise and dynamic sound.

TMD SUSPENSION / ELIMINATE DISTORTION

The new TKM speaker of the K2 Power features an exclusive “M”-shaped structure. This new type of aramid fiber speaker offers great precision in very high frequencies, while its combined use with the IAL2 “push-pull” motor technology extends the low frequencies and provides excellent harmonic balance.

“Radial VC” Cooling / FOR HIGHER SPL

The new Radial VC cooling system for the speaker voice coils expels hot air from the voice coil to the bottom of the magnet through six vents. This improves the temperature control of the voice coil, limiting the effects of thermal compression and improving reliability.
