The TEAC UD-505-X is a premium USB DAC and fully balanced headphone amplifier in a compact A4-sized dual-monaural design. It features dual ESS ES9038Q2M converters, two toroidal transformers, and a Bluetooth receiver supporting LDAC and aptX HD. With 4.4 mm Pentaconn and dual 6.3 mm TRS outputs, it delivers a high-fidelity listening experience with exceptional clarity.

Dual-Monaural Architecture & ESS Converters

The dual mono design processes stereo signals with absolute clarity, using one ESS Technology ES9038Q2M converter for each channel (left and right). Operating each DAC in mono mode achieves an exceptionally high signal-to-noise ratio. It also supports Hi-Res audio playback up to DSD512 (22.5MHz) and PCM 768kHz/32bit, with up-conversion available up to 24.5MHz DSD.

TEAC-QVCS Headphone Amplifier & Volume Control System

It features the enhanced TEAC-HCLD2 output circuit and the four-circuit TEAC-QVCS volume control system. For headphone connections, it provides a 5-pole 4.4 mm Pentaconn jack, as well as dual 1/4" (6.3 mm) TRS jacks for balanced and active-ground connections, fully meeting the needs of audiophile headphones.

Wireless Bluetooth Connectivity & Timing

The built-in Bluetooth receiver supports high-resolution codecs such as LDAC and Qualcomm aptX HD, as well as AAC and SBC. For precise timing, the system features dual internal 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz frequency clocks, along with an input for an external 10 MHz clock.

Power Supply, Chassis Design & Bulk Pet Technology

The power supply is based on two toroidal transformers, one for each channel. The chassis features a three-point Stressless Foot support design, a semi-floating top panel, and an OLED display with a dimmer function. Bulk Pet USB transfer technology offers four transfer modes for different sound characteristics.
