Description

Fiscal phenomena, such as taxation, public debt, government spending, etc., as events attract the interest of all public and private sector entities of a country almost daily and constitute subjects of scientific and political analysis from mass media (press, television, etc.).

However, it is a fact that the operation and scientific analysis of these phenomena remain unknown to the general public, as these tasks require specialized technical knowledge. For this reason, they remain in the 'depths of fiscal administration' and are mainly understood by specially trained staff of the Ministry of Finance.

Specifically, in our country there is a certain deficiency in fiscal education, mainly because the course on public economics, which covers the study of the above phenomena, is either not taught at all or not taught adequately by educational institutions in the country.

This situation does not contribute to improving the fiscal condition as dictated by the international economic environment and mainly by Greece's accession to the eurozone.
