#BookTok Recommendation from Tiktokers

Charlotte Davis is shattered. At seventeen, she has already lost more than most people lose in an entire lifetime. But she has learned to forget. The broken glass drives away sorrow and leaves only peace behind. There’s no need to think about your father and the river. Your best friend, forever lost. Or your mother, who has nothing left to offer you.

Every new scar hardens Charlie's heart a little more, yet it still hurts a lot. It hurts enough that she no longer cares, something that sometimes must happen before you can find your way back from the extremes.

A deeply moving portrait of a girl in a world that owes her nothing and has taken so much, and her journey to heal. Kathleen Glasgow's debut is heartbreaking in its truth and fearless in its honesty. It’s a story that won’t let you put it down.

Breathtaking. Beautifully written. Bustle

A wonderfully beautiful and essential book that will haunt you long after you turn the last page. Nicola Yoon, author

Equal parts observant empathy, raw honesty, and tremendous beauty. This book is why we read stories: to experience what it’s like to survive what you shouldn’t survive; to find light in the deepest night. Jeff Zentner, author

Breathtaking writing about the pain and healing that comes with struggle… I want every girl to read Girl in Pieces. Kara Thomas, author

EVERY MOMENT IS SCHEDULED. We wake up at six. We drink lukewarm coffee or watered-down juice at a quarter to seven. We have half an hour to spread cream cheese on stale bread rolls or shove soft-boiled eggs into our mouths or swallow lumpy oatmeal. There are no doors on the showers and I don't know what material the bathroom mirrors are made of, definitely not glass, and your face looks blurry and lost when you brush your teeth or comb your hair. If you want to shave your legs, a nurse has to be present, but none of us wants that, so your legs are like hairy boy's legs.
