Description

Description

Photographers will enjoy the beautiful bokeh effect that only a large-aperture lens can offer and the exceptionally sharp optical performance expected from a superb lens. Utilizing the latest SIGMA technologies and design concepts, this new lens meets the Art line concept, where various elements come together in optimal balance.

Specifications

A prime lens with a focal length of approximately 50 mm and an aperture of F1.4 offers a field of view very similar to human vision. The photographer can use the shallow depth of field at a wide-open aperture to capture stunning portraits and tabletop still life shots. They can also stop down the aperture for a greater depth of field to shoot landscapes or snapshots. In this way, standard lenses allow photographers to enjoy many of the fundamental photography methods and, as a result, have been favorites for decades. Photographers can enjoy F1.4 brightness and standard lens functionality with an equivalent focal length of 35 mm to 60 mm in the Micro Four Thirds system and 45 mm in the Sony E-mount system.

This review is about the mount: Sony E

Very good lens with a solid feel. In my personal opinion, the low f1.4 is amazing, without significantly darkening the edges of the image. Very beautiful bokeh with a lot of sharpness at the focus point. Very good in low light (for night photos) and with quite low noise in the focus motor. In terms of construction, it is compact and does not feel "plastic" at all. I use it on a Sony a6100 and it sits very nicely. I really recommend it without reservation!

I have had it for 3 weeks on Sony A6300. It's early, but so far I have seen incredible results. I went ahead and purchased it after seeing reviews and videos where they said the best things.

This review is about the mount: Canon EF-M

The lens was mounted on the Sony ZV-10.
As an amateur, this lens allows me to take professional photos that surprised me.
The autofocus works flawlessly and very quietly.
The f/1.4 saves crop cameras in low light conditions, no more high ISO and grain in photos.
Very good sharpness, especially in the f/4 to f/8 range, the photos are crystal clear.

For those who are in a dilemma of which one to choose first from the Sigma trio, the 30mm is the best choice in my opinion, it didn't limit me anywhere (we're talking about portrait and portrait with a little landscape).

This review is about the mount: Sony E

The lens is excellent. It has a wonderful bokeh due to the f/1.4 and the autofocus is amazing. The colors are very accurate. The result is sharp and if you put it in a lightroom and play a little, then you achieve a photo that you hardly believe the lens cost ~300 euros. Remember that because it is a crop, we are essentially talking about a 45mm focal length. It is ideal for all-around use. You can take portraits and urban shoots with this camera. I haven't tried landscapes yet to see if the lens will be good or if I would prefer a wider angle than 45mm. Finally, buy it! It's worth it!

Whoever is considering making the purchase but is delaying because they are afraid or for any other reason, they should buy it yesterday!! Compared to the basic lens that everyone starts with, it is simply day and night. It may not have the zoom, but this F 1.4 is incredible, plus the focus it has. Even in the video with the A6000, which doesn't have subject tracking or a touch screen, the focus it achieves is unbelievable!! It elevates the camera to another level.

Very fast, sharp, works flawlessly with the amazing autofocus of the Sony A6400. Not recommended for landscapes as the crop sensor is already slightly "zoomed in", so in combination with the 30mm lens, the frame is quite narrow

Very good lens. Sigma = sharpness. It is a must-have lens. I got it second-hand, but a new one now costs about 300 euros. For that money, it's hard to find a 30mm 1.4. I would only replace it with the Sigma 16mm 1.4 from the same series

Whatever the BEST you can get for this money for the Sony 6xxx series. Very sharp lens and very reliable. It will make your life a little difficult in auto focus because it is not as fast as a Sony lens. But for this money and with an aperture of 1.4, if there is something better, let me know so I can buy it too. Great value for what it offers!

It is the sharpest lens I have tried so far, even compared to the Sony 50mm for e-mount. Its only downside might be a little chromatic aberration at the edges. The lens has greatly improved the quality of my photos and is permanently attached to the camera, leaving the kit lens on the side.

This review is about the mount: Sony E

Amazing lens, I have enjoyed taking photos with it. Its small size has been convenient for me, I put it in my bag and always have it with me along with my Sony a6300.

The best all-around use for its money and for the 30mm for the a6xxx series of Sony.
Incredible sharpness and surprisingly good autofocus, it loses a bit in low light.

It is the sharpest lens I have tried so far, even compared to the Sony 50mm for e-mount. Its only downside might be a little chromatic aberration at the edges. The lens has greatly improved the quality of my photos and is permanently attached to the camera, leaving the kit lens on the side.

  • I mainly got it for night street photography and I really like it. Very good sharpness and color representation

  • Very good lens with a solid feel.

  • I have had it for 3 weeks on Sony A6300. It's early, but so far I have seen incredible results. I went ahead and purchased it after seeing reviews and videos where they said the best things.

  • The lens was mounted on the Sony ZV-10.

  • The lens is excellent.
