Description

THEY WERE EAGER TO BE THERE

A picturesque resort on an island off the coast of England promises ultimate relaxation. But the island itself, also known as The Scythe Rock, has a dark past. A serial killer once operated there.

NOW THEY CAN'T LEAVE

A young woman is found dead beneath the yoga pavilion. It seems her death was caused by an unfortunate fall. However, Detective Elin Warner discovers that the victim was not a guest at the resort; she shouldn't have even been on the island.

THEY WOULD DO ANYTHING TO ESCAPE

As time passes, Elin uncovers more and more secrets. And when someone else from the group drowns during a scuba dive, Elin suspects that these deaths are not merely accidents. But why would someone target the guests at this luxury resort? Detective Warner must find the killer before the island's history repeats itself.

Thia's scream tears through the clearing, startling the birds and making them flutter frightened from the trees. The sound is not human; it is shrill and heartbreaking, the kind of scream that turns your stomach inside out and makes your ears burn. She should have waited until they returned to the camp. She had been told to wait. But Thia insisted. Just half an hour and three beers after they had slipped away secretly from the camp to spend some time alone, she said she couldn't hold it any longer: "Don't look at me like that, it's your fault for bringing so many beers. Yell if you see someone coming..." Laughing, she had moved a few steps away, making sure to stand in a spot where Oli could only see the sand-stained tips of her white sneakers, while a thin wet line was already running on the dusty ground. The scream grows louder.
