You know the official technical data, so I won't insist anymore.
Ok, how is it in practice?
Construction: very solid, rigid, like a tank, inspires confidence. The buttons respond quickly and are pleasant to the touch, but they need to be pressed a little harder.
Reception: it is good, the sound is clear, the speaker can handle high volumes. For many FM stations, I don't even need to extend the antenna (positioned on the windowsill, in the city). But if I position it inside the house, the reception quality decreases.
Battery: in tests it lasted 30 days without charging from the outlet, moderate use, only with manual charging with the crank / dynamo, 2 minutes each day
Dynamo / crank: works very well, 1 minute of cranking provides 10 - 15 minutes of radio operation.
Solar charging: it is very slow, only in strong sunlight, outdoors, with the solar panel pointed directly at the sun. A 3-hour solar charge provides about 2 minutes of radio operation. Placed on the windowsill, indoors, it indicates charging but it is false. My window is reflective and actually blocks the sun's rays, although bright light seems sufficient for charging. Don't rely on solar charging, but it is better than nothing.
Although the user manual recommends only using an original Midland battery, I also tested it with a regular 18650 battery. It works the same as the original battery, there are no visible differences. You can carry a charged battery in case of long trips, it is very easy to replace.
It works well and is powered by batteries, but I have not tested how long it would last. Normal AA batteries, they are found everywhere.
The flashlight is quite powerful, with two power levels. It is ok for emergency situations.
In the end I am very happy with the device, I will use it for traveling and outdoor activities, I can rely on it in any conditions.
I also chose it because I have a Midland CB radio station mounted on my car, I have been using it for 10 years in very harsh conditions and it still works.
