Tall lamp, with good support along the entire length of the arm. At its base, it has a plastic (quite sturdy in construction) "adapter with a gap so that it can be embedded" in the surface of the desk, with a plastic hand screw that tightens the lamp quite well. With several tilt angles. It CANNOT be placed at the front of the desk, only on its right and left sides. It comes over your head so you can work comfortably with its light falling from above you.
If, of course, the desk has a protruding surface at the front, then it can also be placed there. With E27 socket.
