Description

There is no battle between the sexes.

The value of women does not depend on their beauty. The value of men does not depend on the size of their penis. Women are not made for marriage and children. Men are not made to make money. Women do not owe sex to anyone. Men are as complex as women.

Women want sex as much as men do. Men want tenderness as much as women do. Since the day we were born, we have been lied to. That women only want relationships and men only want sex. That if women want sex, they are sluts. That if men want tenderness, they are not man enough. That there is a battle between the sexes and we are in opposing camps. That someone has to be on top, or else they will be a loser. And that we are not allowed to ask for more.

Although we have endless options, and we know that with a swipe we will move on to the next person through dating apps. We did not dare to ask for more because no one was listening to us. And yet. Now dating is changing. Many women have already realized. The old rules no longer apply, everything we knew was wrong and we need to learn it again.

Let’s see dating between the sexes from a different perspective. With true curiosity. With honesty. With kindness. With respect. With a willingness for laughter, fun, and play. Everything is here. You will understand what exactly things mean that you have been hearing for a long time, and you will learn new concepts that describe dating as it is today. From sexist jokes to rape culture, from Friend Zone to Nice Guys™, from flirting to harassment, from sex to consent, and from pleasure to orgasmic void.

Dating has changed and we are swimming in uncharted waters. This is the guide.

Without having previously dealt with the subject of the book (dating and gender relationships), I consider Irini Georgi to be one of the best representatives of modern relationship culture between men and women. In this book, she combines contemporary theories on patriarchy, gender relations, boundaries with our behavior, and our roles in dating, with humor and eloquence. And, as she beautifully states in the book, it is addressed to men, not to women. However, I believe that this book is the best gift for both men and women from teenagers to more mature individuals!

The book in the theoretical part states the obvious/things that should be obvious (disruptive behaviors, no means no, etc).

When it comes to the practical part of the examples, the book reproduces sexist-patriarchal stereotypes and generally the Hollywood-type male stereotypes (the tall, blue-eyed guy, the Latin lover who 'shoots and leaves' and leaves behind fake dreams for the partner, etc). Is what feminists ultimately want someone like Spaliaras with the difference of having Spanish origin? It's as ridiculous as if a Thai woman wrote a feminist text about her adventure with a Greek man who engaged in sex tourism in Thailand.

Playboy and CLICK, which 'enlightened' us, are probably more feminist in the end
