The MikroTik RB5009UPr S OUT router is designed for outdoor use and features an IP66-rated enclosure for protection against water and dust. It includes 7 Gigabit Ethernet ports, one 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet port, a 10G SFP+ slot, and a USB 3 port. It is powered by a quad-core Marvell Armada ARMv8 processor and takes advantage of RouterOS v7 capabilities.

It supports nine power supply methods through the 2-pin connector and Ethernet ports, and can select the highest-voltage source when multiple sources are connected. Power options operate within a 24–57 V range; voltages cannot be mixed. The PoE-out ports provide up to 25 W each, with a total limit of 130 W. Power must be supplied through the 2-pin connector to power other devices via PoE-out.
