Sonically Superior Mic Preamps

All XENYX mixers share a common feature – the XENYX microphone preamps with exceptional sound and high headroom. These state-of-the-art microphone preamps represent a significant step in the evolution of audio technology – and can easily hold their own, even when compared to more expensive standalone microphone preamps. The XENYX preamps offer an impressive dynamic range of 130 dB, with a bandwidth that extends from below 10 Hz to well above 200 kHz. Armed with these outstanding microphone preamps, XENYX mixers deliver such transparent, crystal-clear performance that you might just think someone upgraded your microphones while you weren't looking.

One-button compression

Compression essentially limits the dynamic range of a signal, reducing the level of loud sounds and increasing softer sounds, to achieve sound balance. But applying compression is a delicate art that many beginners, even intermediate, sound technicians find challenging. One-knob compression is available on all mono channels and is easy to use, even for entry-level users. With this one knob, you can easily achieve perfect compression for instruments and vocals, creating powerful mixes with punch and clarity. This is indeed a rare feature for products in this category – but standard on the XENYX X1204USB mixer.

Built-in Digital Multi-FX Processor

Equipped with the 24-bit Multi-FX studio-quality processor, the X1204USB offers you 16 impressive digital effect presets, such as delay, chorus, and reverb. Time-based functions can be manually entered by pressing the Tap button in rhythm with the music. Apply them to any channel, as well as to monitors and the main output. Naturally, if you have valuable outboard gear that you are attached to, the X1204USB allows you to integrate them into the mix – bypassing the built-in FX processor.

I use it for music events, Livestreams, and everyday use on my PC. It has never let me down in any of these situations. Its sound effects are clear and high-quality without any noise. The phantom power works perfectly, and I really liked the ability to adjust the gain separately from the main volume of the microphone, so I have nothing negative to say about the product. Also, it works perfectly with the Behringer XM-8500 dynamic mic!
*Adding a comment after a few months...
Lately, it has been producing a slight noise that I can't figure out the source of. I will take it to a store that repairs consoles to see if it can be fixed, and I will update you.
*A few months later... In the end, I didn't take it to a specialist, but after doing some cable management in my PC setup, the noise stopped. It's possible that the noise was coming from interference from another cable.
