The classic novella of 1927, written by the great Austrian author, sketches the deeply moving portrait of a woman who realizes she must pay a heavy price if she wants to live passion. The heroine is a woman who lost her husband and years later falls madly in love with a Polish diplomat, addicted to gambling.

And the span of one day becomes her entire life. Twenty-four years later, she will dare for the first time to speak about those twenty-four hours that marked her forever.
