I got it so I could get 3 Thunderbolt 4 ports downstream from the one that the mini PC normally provides. (It is used as upstream). One downstream is used to provide dual display, another to connect an external T4 storage system with NVMe's, and the other remains empty for future use. And it has an extra 10G USB for anything else needed.
It works flawlessly and as it should.

I use it with a MacBook Pro M1. I have a monitor, 2 phones, and a mouse connected. Generally, everything is fine but quite often I notice that the connection with the mouse or with one of the phones is lost and the computer needs to be restarted for them to reconnect. If not everything is connected to the dock and I plug something into a port on the laptop, then the problem does not occur.
