It is this trust that processes the testimonies of the past and the evaluations of the present, not through an algorithmic mechanism, often unconsciously ideologically biased, but under a distinctly person-centered perspective, highlighting precisely the extremely human and thus always pending, enigmatic dimensions of these testimonies.

The historian's trust in himself, the historical sources he investigates, as well as his own historiographical composition, along with the readers' trust in the historian, constitute the fourfold axis around which each historiographical attempt to reflect upon time, place, and human actions is proposed to be viewed.
