A book featuring approximately one hundred analog black-and-white photographs from various locations ranging from Pikermi to South America. The perspective somehow connects these images.
Each image contains a personalized impression. The collection represents a long journey through spaces and themes that, although different and varied, find resonance in the criteria and calling of the photographer. With a characteristic unconventional spirit, it focuses on inanimate materials and constructions that come alive alongside images of people in their daily lives, as well as unusual viewpoints and aspects of landscapes and archaeological sites in Greece, Iran, Ethiopia, Latin America, and beyond.
The common spirit that ties the photographs together emerges from the imaginative mood created by the succession of themes. The technically valuable publication of the book features special paper with tritone printing and Chinese sewn binding, aiming for a tranquil exploration of the images within the ideal frame for each one.
The photograph on the cover is selected from the collection "Wave Breaker, Gavrio Andros." The texts in the book are penned by Kostas Ioannidis and Daphne Karaiskaki, the design of the publication is by Graphicon and Vouvoula Skoura, and the printing is by Kostas Kostopoulos.
Stella Nastou has been involved in photography since 1981, initially as a member of the photographic group Studio Quark and later for fifteen years as a member of the Photographic Circle, with activities and participation in solo and group exhibitions and publications in Greece and abroad. Until the end of January 2023, her exhibition featuring selected archaeological themes from Greece is hosted at the gallery Le Voleur d’ Images in Paris.
