Description

“We were paralyzed between two dreadful myths: between Medusa and the abyss. This alone is enough to make half the world burst out laughing, although the joke continues at our expense. Because the phallocentric denial is within us, it is enlisted, reformulating old paradigms, entrenched as it is in the doctrine of castration.

Nothing has changed: they have theorized their desire for their imaginary reality! Let the priests tremble, our intersex subjects are coming! We truly feel sorry for them if in their discovery that women are not men or that the mother does not have one (phallus), they collapse. But doesn’t this fear suit them?

Wouldn’t it be worse, in fact it is not worse, that women are not castrated? That they simply need to stop listening to the Sirens (because the Sirens were men) for the narrative to change meaning? You only need to look Medusa straight in the eye to see her. And she is not deadly. She is beautiful and she laughs.”

Translation: Gogo Katsouli, Jenny Kountouri Tsiami, Irini Spanopoulou
