The Mackie 3204 VLZ4 analog mixer combines 32 channels and 4 subgroups with 28 XDR2 microphone preamps and a low-noise design with high headroom. The mic/line inputs feature XLR and jack connectors, and 48 V phantom power is provided for studio condenser microphones.

The mixer features an active three-band EQ, an 18 dB/octave low-cut filter at 100 Hz, and compressors on the subgroups and channels 25–28. The two 32-bit RMFX+ processors include 24 effects, such as reverbs, chorus, and tap delay. The built-in 4×2, 24-bit USB interface supports recording to PC or Mac from the subgroups or the main L/R output.
