Description

Meredith O'Donovan, a young Irishwoman, lives with her six-year-old son Ian in Cortown, a small town in Ireland. His father abandoned them as soon as the child was diagnosed with attention deficit disorder. The little boy constantly causes problems with his behavior that sometimes drive his mother to her limits.

One day, he starts reacting almost paronoidly. He feverishly draws strange images, repeats unknown words, and mentions places and names that she doesn’t recognize, asking to be taken to his mother. The only one who seems to take his words seriously is her sister, Shirley, who is a teacher.

Everything her nephew mentions seems to be related to the Greek island of Crete. But how is it possible for a six-year-old child, who cannot even read yet, to know so many details about places and names from this Greek island? The boy's behavior is so bizarre that it raises huge questions; so much so that the two women decide to visit the island.

With only his drawings, words, and names as research clues, they are led to a village in Lassithi, Anatoli, where half a century ago a tragic event occurred, involving a strange disappearance that devastated families and stigmatized the village. And Ian seems to have a connection to this event…

THE MEETING OF SOULS WHO HAVE LOST LOVE UNJUSTLY TAKES PLACE AT THE 13TH GATE OF PURIFICATION.

He walked behind the group of four for about fifteen minutes and saw them enter a large two-story house. He made sure they were a family. Blantyre did not have many such houses and it was then that he realized he was not dealing with an ordinary girl, as he had initially thought, but with someone who had great wealth. Until then, the life and financial situation of his supervisor had not concerned him, but now he realized that he was rich. And how could he not be, when he was in charge of the mines whenever McGill was absent, which happened often, since he traveled a lot. The boss had three sons, the two younger ones still went to school and the eldest, a foolish, well-dressed, plump man who was indifferent to the mines, followed his father everywhere. He had barely seen him twice in all the months he had worked for them. He thought he had become interested in the wrong girl and that it would be best to forget her.

Wonderful book with an excellent plot! Very nicely written without repetitions to tire you. It was recommended to me by a friend who was thrilled (and rightly so) and in turn, I also recommend it unreservedly!

    Very nice plot.
A little big in size, but it is a classic book by Dimoulidou.
It doesn't get tiring as much as I thought but due to its size, you have to remember names!

Although I'm not a fan of reading, as I easily get bored if there is no progress and excitement, I really liked this one and found myself counting the hours to finish my work so I could pick it up and see what happens next. Impressive! I would highly recommend it, especially now that summer vacations are approaching. I would advise you, before starting it, to grab a pen and paper and write down the names of the characters and some details about who they are, as it will help you later because you might get confused since there are several characters in the beginning with English names that we Greeks are not familiar with. Only at the beginning of this book, then the Greeks will come with their Greek names and bring the excitement along.
