The continuously increasing number of children with learning difficulties and the questions raised regarding intervention programs, training for teachers and parents, and actions to address these difficulties are particularly concerning for all those involved in child development and education: educators, parents, and specialists.
Furthermore, the children themselves, aside from their difficulties, also face a range of problems stemming from these: low self-esteem, anxiety, poor relationships with peers, issues with teachers and parents, etc.
The aim of this volume is to highlight certain essential aspects of the contemporary discourse surrounding the issue of learning difficulties, in an effort to contribute not only to the documentation of the intervention methods applied in the Greek educational reality but also to the development of the relevant dialogue (which can, after all, be supported by abundant published material in the Greek language) and – why not – to challenge certain 'constants' that characterize this specific field of research.
