Description

The primary mirror is made of pyrex for greater inertia to temperature differences, has a parabolic surface, which eliminates the spherical aberration error that spherical mirrors suffer from. The secondary mirror is supported by a cross arrangement of metal sheets, which are only 0.5mm thick, to minimize the diffraction phenomenon and light loss. Additionally, the model features a 2″ focuser and a 1.25″ adapter, making it possible to use eyepieces of both calibers.

The Dobsonian telescopes from SkyWatcher are equipped with the effective tension control handle, which is a patent of SkyWatcher.

Top Optics with 8″ Parabolic Mirror

The Skyliner 200 Classic features an impressive 200mm (8″) diameter parabolic primary mirror, which gathers a huge amount of light (81% more than a 6″ model). Combined with the 1200mm focal length ($f/6$), it eliminates spherical aberrations, delivering exceptionally clear and sharp images. The mirror surfaces feature highly reflective aluminum coatings with a protective silicon dioxide layer for maximum durability and performance.

Stable and Easy-to-Use Dobsonian Mount Base

The philosophy of Dobsonian design is based on absolute simplicity and robustness. The wooden azimuth base allows the telescope to move manually with incredible smoothness and precision on both axes (horizontal and vertical). It is equipped with Sky-Watcher's patented Tension Control Handle system, which allows you to adjust the friction during vertical movement, so that the telescope remains completely stable in the desired position without losing the target.

Deep Sky Exploration

Thanks to its large aperture, this telescope is a true "light collector," ideal for observing deep-sky objects. Through its eyepiece, you will be able to clearly discern the structure of famous nebulae (such as Orion), distant globular clusters, and bright galaxies (such as Andromeda). Of course, its performance on the Moon and the planets of our solar system is equally captivating, revealing the rings of Saturn and the bands of Jupiter.

Complete Equipment and Crayford Focuser

The Sky-Watcher 8″ Skyliner comes equipped with a quality 2″ Crayford focuser (with a 1.25″ adapter), which ensures perfectly smooth, backlash-free focusing, making high-magnification observing easier. The package also includes two eyepieces (25mm and 10mm) for low and high magnification respectively, as well as a powerful 9x50 finder scope that helps with quick and accurate locating of celestial objects.

Unparalleled telescope for dark skies. The journey with this telescope is amazing. I have had it for 3 years and I have seen everything: the solar system, the Orion Nebula, the fantastic galaxy of Andromeda. It is a dream. I highly recommend it, but you need good lenses. I have the Hypperion 5mmhe and the 31mm Barlow Televue 3x. Let's have great observations and clear skies.
