The PROM 431005N by Nal Von Minden is an immunochromatographic test for the detection of IGFBP-1 (insulin-like growth factor binding protein-1) at a concentration of 15 ng/ml (μg/l). The test is intended for use in examining pregnant women with suspected premature rupture of membranes.

Premature rupture of the amniotic membrane occurs frequently in 5-10% of all pregnancies and can cause:

• Preterm births
• Intrauterine inflammation
• Fetal infection

Accurate and timely diagnosis of this complication through a simple and quick test is crucial for the clinician and allows for immediate decision-making (hospitalization or induction of labor).

Delay in diagnosing amniotic fluid leakage leads to the absence of necessary obstetric measures. Detection of amniotic fluid leakage 32 hours after the initial occurrence results in neonatal sepsis.
