The rich yet high-quality jurisprudential productions that have been produced over the last decades, especially by the Council of State, from the Greek judicial authorities’ side, as well as the European Court of Human Rights, concerning cases with main or incidental issues related to Church Law, have made it necessary to revise this esteemed work, which has been recognized since 2013, in order to keep up with the most recent developments.

During the same period, an extensive bibliography, originating not only from the European but also from the Greek academic community, seeks to confidently attract our interest with its theoretical contribution to the development of areas such as the protection of religious freedom, the relations between the state and the church, the organization, administration, and institutional functioning of the ecclesiastical body, as well as the jurisdictional content of the ecclesiastical jurisdictions within Greek territory.

The present volume aims to operate within the framework set by these new realities, serving as a well-balanced aid both for the theoretical cultivation and the jurisprudential (practical) shaping of the various research directions within Church Law.
