"At the point we find ourselves, we can talk about a reversal of roles between the Right and the Left, and not only that, but also about a return to their respective roots. The reversal of roles manifests itself, as we have seen, in the sociology of both factions. The parties of the Left have reached the point of selectively representing those social segments that benefit from globalization: the privileged classes of the cities and the globalized urban class, which possesses an educational capital tailored to the digital economy and the new technological-industrial society. In contrast, the 'populist' Right represents the 'marginalized', the popular classes that defend their roots, who are tormented by insecurity, the migration issue, and cultural alienation. The Left is the vanguard of the elitist block, while the 'populist' Right is increasingly becoming the vanguard of the subordinate classes."
