One hundred years later, we must not forget.
The content of this edition is a tribute to the families that composed the human resources of the Greek community of the city of Cotiaeum - Kütahya in Asia Minor, one of the most significant cities in the region of ancient Phrygia. It is a tribute to the memory of those people who were violently forced to be displaced, to become refugees, and to start their lives anew, for those who survived.
Life seemed harsh for them. They left their livelihood in their ancestral homeland, Asia Minor, and came weakened to their new homeland, one that represented a vision for them and was held in their hearts, Greece. They fought to be accepted, yet they were undeterred. Today, ten decades later, the new breath they brought to the land and their contribution to its evolution is now recognized.
They themselves, along with their descendants, present here their memories, along with abundant photographic material, as a memorial for those who are no longer with us.
