The heroes of the story "Long Live Panathinaikos" interact on multiple fronts: from Paris and Antwerp to the velodrome of Neo Faliro and the shores of Asia Minor. Through the narrative of Andreas Oikonomou and the vibrant illustrations of Petros Baltas, we travel to the era when the identity of Panathinaikos was shaped.
We learn when the Great Club first wore the clover, as well as the imaginative ways the founders of the Club devised to spread their new emblem in Athens. Additionally, we witness the first chants in the stands of Greek stadiums during the period when Panathinaikos was conquering the Greek championships of 1920 and 1921.
"Long Live Panathinaikos" is divided into two parts. In this volume, the protagonists are none other than Georgios Kalafatis and Apostolos Nikolaidis. We follow the former in his graduation from the Medical School of Athens and during the Asia Minor Campaign, when he was assigned the sports organization of the army. At the same time, we admire the holistic perspective of the latter on sports and observe how Greek basketball and volleyball were born.
