This is the fifth book by the author on topics of international contemporary art, which presents 42 major international art events, Biennales, Documenta Kassel, thematic and retrospective exhibitions of artists in major museums, visited over the past four years.

It raises the following questions: What is contemporary art and how is it classified? What is its dominant trend, what are its characteristics, and how is this defined by major museums and the market? The answers are found in the exhibitions described, taking into account the writings of critics, theorists, philosophers, and art historians.

The book features several artists from the dominant trend, as well as a generation of emerging artists who use various expressive mediums, primarily installations, video art, painting, and photography.

There is a trend towards creating large-scale works that impress and captivate, an art that aligns with, reflects, or intensifies contemporary lifestyle, responding to broader economic and political transformations within the globalized, neoliberal economy.

Contemporary art, the art after the end of modernism, is fifty years old and has begun to be regarded by writers and museums as a distinct entity. Museums dedicated exclusively to contemporary art have also begun to be built, and some are presented in the book.
