Soula Ghiralea was born in Volos, studied physics at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and pursued postgraduate studies in radioelectrology.

She initially worked as a teacher. Later, together with her husband, they worked as telecommunications engineers for OTE in Kozani and Thessaloniki, where they had three sons.

Having a mother from Kozani and a husband from Velventos Kozani, places famous for pie, she was initiated into the art of pie-making. The book is oriented towards tradition, but also towards modern life, and aims to convey the secrets of pie to those who wish to embrace them.

Because pie makes friends and brings us closer together.
