• Position the scale close to the joint you want to measure.
• Turn the indicator until the scale reads 0.
• Move the joint through its full range of motion and read the range from the indicator.
• Some measurements require the use of 2 scales.
• The standards are coded in the "AMA Guide to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment, Third Edition."
