Description & Specifications

Businesses and organizations operate within a dynamically changing environment. Particularly following the developments in recent years in the international economic space and in information and communication technologies, the changes in this environment are rapid.

Consequently, various business decisions in companies and organizations depend on a large number of factors and are made under time pressure and conditions of uncertainty. Improving the quality of these decisions requires thorough analysis of the available data. The science of Statistics and its statistical analysis techniques are valuable tools in supporting these decisions.

The evolution of computers and the development of integrated data statistical analysis systems have made the contribution of Statistics even more crucial. The aim of this book is to present the fundamental concepts of Statistics and the main methods of statistical data analysis.

Particular emphasis is placed on their practical application in the fields of social sciences in general and Business Administration in particular, while the mathematical rigor has been limited to what is absolutely necessary. Additionally, every effort has been made to ensure that the material and its presentation facilitate both the initial understanding of the concepts and their deeper exploration where deemed necessary.

For this reason, at the beginning of each chapter, there is a Purpose that outlines the framework of the material to be presented. Furthermore, the key Concepts of the chapter are recorded, along with an Introduction that outlines the content of the chapter. Each chapter includes examples, solved in detail, which contribute to reinforcing the material. Most of the examples are also solved with the help of the statistical package MINITAB.

At the end of each chapter, there are Exercises that allow students to assess their progress and an Appendix that provides the essential information for using the statistical package MINITAB. Finally, the volume concludes with a Glossary of Terms and an extensive bibliography in both Greek and foreign languages, which includes works related to the subject under study.
