The Baofeng UV-5R is a well-made dual band VHF/UHF transceiver, offering many conveniences and is ideal for use in many applications.

It features a large backlit display with dual frequency indication V/U, U/V, U/U, and V/V. It includes an FM radio receiver and an LED flashlight.

Its battery is a high-capacity 1800mAH LiOn type and charges with the automatic desktop rapid charger that accompanies the device.

Its functions include:

  • CTCSS and DCS sub-tone encoding and decoding
  • DTMF tone transmission
