The Church of Saint George Kokkinaras is located at the foothills of Mount Penteli and belongs to the Holy Metropolis of Kifisia, Amarousi, Oropos, and Marathon.

It dates back to the post-Byzantine period. Saint George the Trophy-Bearer is, among other things, the patron saint of scouts.

It is considered the oldest chapel dedicated to the Saint.
