Description

The daughter of the god Indra descends to earth to investigate what it is like to live a human life. It turns out that it is neither easy nor painless.

The dreams of people are relentlessly crushed, the joys of life always come at the cost of double sorrow, and anyone who does good to one fellow human must be sure that they are simultaneously doing harm to another.

The daughter's conclusion is that it is a pity for mankind and that the poet is the one who understands best how to live. She bids farewell and returns with the help of fire to paradise and her father.

The entire work mimics the incoherent, yet seemingly logical form of a dream, where anything can happen, as the laws of time and space have been abolished.
