I will try to be brief and provide some information and answer as many questions as I can.
+IMAGE: Very good resolution and color quality with good black contrast. I notice a slight deviation in the reds, very slight, compared to the mini-led monitor on my laptop (Asus), but it doesn't particularly bother me. In front of you, 99% of the time you see two identical images if you place the monitors side by side. I don't think I'm scaring anyone; my work is video and photography, and I don't see any problems (I don't work for the BBC, of course).
+BUILD QUALITY. You can feel it, and it is very lightweight but at the same time very high quality in assembly and finish. It is definitely not something that will fall off your desk onto the marble. Aluminum shell on the back and sides, plastic for the thin bezel in front.
+-CONNECTIVITY. The cable included in the package is supposed to be special to "carry" both image transfer and power. LG refers to the connection as "PD Alt Mode." Unfortunately, none of the 5-6 random USB-C to USB-C cables I had in front of me worked. The cable that comes in the box works perfectly, but it is quite thick and inflexible for such a lightweight monitor. Although I have searched quite a bit, I still haven't figured out the specs that a generic cable needs to have to work. So far, from what I have read, I have concluded that the minimum specs should be USB 3.1 Gen2 Type C/Thunderbolt 3 or even better USB 4/Thunderbolt 4, which I don't think are either thin or cheap for someone to just buy for testing.
EDIT 19/08/2024: I bought no-name USB C 3.2 Gen 2 cables 50cm and 3m, and both work just fine like the original cable.
+Samsung DEX. The S24 Ultra cannot "wake up" the monitor with a direct connection between them. It kept connecting/disconnecting without being able to show anything on the screen. And it definitely has to do with the power supply because when I connected power from a charger with Power Delivery (PD) compatibility from the other side (to the second USB-C port on the monitor).... DEX started normally, without ANY issues, and everything worked as it should.
-Stand. The only significant drawback of the product is the magnetic cover/stand. On one hand, the magnets do not have much strength to keep it stable when you place it to protect the screen, but the main problem is that it is not adjustable at various angles (at least 2). There is only one angle that the monitor sits at, which is around 65-70 degrees, and personally, it doesn't work for me in most cases. I want it more "flat" because I also want to have the laptop screen next to it.
Θα προσπαθήσω να ειμαι σύντομος και να δώσω κάποιες πληροφορίες και να λύσω όσες απορίες μπορώ.
+ΕΙΚΟΝΑ: Πολύ καλή ανάλυση αλλά και ποιότητα στα χρώματα με καλή αντιθεση μαύρου. Παρατηρώ μια μικρή απόκληση στα κόκκινα, πολύ μικρή, σε σχέση με το mini-led μονιτορ που έχει το laptop μου (Asus) αλλα δε με προβληματίζει ιδιαιτερα. Μπροστά σου κατα 99% βλέπεις δυο ίδιες εικόνες αν βάλεις τα μόνιτορ διπλα-δίπλα. Δεν νομίζω να τρομάζω κανέναν, η δική μου δουλειά ειναι βίντεο και φωτογραφία και δεν βλέπω να έχω κανένα πρόβλημα (δεν δουλευω για το BBC βέβαια)
+ΠΟΙΟΤΗΤΑ ΚΑΤΑΣΚΕΥΗΣ. Το αισθάνεσαι και ειναι πολύ ελαφρύ αλλα ταυτόχρονα πολύ ποιοτικό στην συναρμογή και το φινίρισμα. Σίγουρα δεν ειναι για να σου φυγει απο το γραφείο κατω στο μάρμαρο. Κέλυφος αλουμινίου πίσω και πλάγια, πλαστικό το λεπτό bezel μπροστά.
+- ΣΥΝΔΕΣΜΟΛΟΓΙΑ. Το καλώδιο που περιέχεται στην συσκευασία υποτίθεται ειναι ειδικό για να "σηκώνει" και την μεταφορά εικόνας αλλα και ρεύματος . Την σύνδεση την αναφέρει σαν "PD Alt Mode" η LG. Δυστυχώς καμια 5-6 άσχετα καλώδια usb-c σε usb-c που είχα μπροστα μου και δοκίμασα δεν επαιζαν. Το καλώδιο που έρχεται στο κουτί εννοείται οτι δουλεύει άψογα αλλά ειναι αρκετα χοντρό και δισκαμπτό για μια τοσο ελαφρυα οθόνη. Αν και εχω ψάξει αρκετά ακόμα δεν έχω καταλλήξει στα specs που πρέπει να έχει ένα generic καλώδιο για να λειτουργήσει. Μέχρι στιγμής, απ'οσα εχω διαβάσει έχω καταλλήξει οτι μinimum specs πρέπει να ειναι USB 3.1 Gen2 Type C/Thunderbolt 3 ή ακόμα καλύτερα USB 4/Thunderbolt 4, τα οποία ουτε λεπτα νομίζω ειναι αλλα ούτε και φθηνά για να κάνει κάποιος απλα μια αγορά για δοκιμή.
EDIT 19/08/2024: Αγόρασα no-name USB C 3.2 Gen 2 καλώδια 50cm και 3m και δουλεύουν και τα 2 μια χαρά όπως το original καλώδιο.
+Samsung DEX. Το S24 Ultra δεν μπορεί να "ξυπνήσει" την οθόνη με απευθείας σύνδεση μεταξύ τους. Εκανε συνεχώς connect/disconnect χωρις να προλάβει να δείξει κάτι στην οθόνη. Και σίγουρα έχει να κάνει με την παροχή ρεύματος γιατι βάζοντας απο την αλλη μεριά (στη 2η υποδοχή usb-c της οθόνης) παροχή ρεύματος απο φορτιστή με συμβατότητα Power Delivery (PD) ....ξεκίνησε κανονικά το DEX, χωρις ΚΑΝΕΝΑ θέμα και το όλα λειτούργησαν όπως έρπεπε.
-Stand. Η μόνη σημαντική παραφωνία του προϊ΄όντος είναι το μαγνητικό κάλυμα/stand. Απο τη μια δεν έχουν καμια τρομερή δύναμη οι μαγνήτες για να μείνει σταθερά στη θέση του οταν το τοποθετείς για να προστατέυσεις την οθόνη αλλα το κυρίως πρόβλημα ειναι που δεν είναι ρυθμιζόμενο σε διάφορες γωνίες (έστω 2). Είναι μια η γωνία που κάθεται η οθόνη, ειναι κοντα στις 65-70 μοίρες και προσωπικά δε με βολέυει στις περισσότερες περιπτώσεις. Το θέλω πιο "ξάπλα" γιατί αντιστοιχα θέλω να έχω και την οθόνη του laptop δίπλα.
