Description

Palermo: The Great Purge is a classic social deduction, mystery, and survival game that has been loved by generations of players. It is the ultimate game for large groups, where bluffing, observation, and persuasion are your only weapons. In a city where no one is who they seem, players are called to discover the culprits before it's too late or to lead their opponents down the wrong paths.

A taste of the game!

The city of Palermo never sleeps peacefully. Every night, the shadows in the streets grow thicker and the Mafia secretly plans its next move. Ordinary citizens try to protect their community, while the Police Officer and the Doctor fight their own battles behind the scenes to save those in danger. The tension peaks every time the sun rises, as the residents gather in the square to decide whom to trust and whom to send to prison. One wrong decision can be fatal for an innocent person, while the Mafia lurks among you, ready to prevail.

What's in the box?

  • 30 Character cards (Citizens, Mafia, Police Officer, Doctor, etc.)
  • 1 Rulebook with detailed instructions

Everything you need to know to play

The game is coordinated by a Narrator, who does not actively participate in the gameplay but directs the phases and the flow of the story. At the beginning, each player receives a secret card that determines their role. The players are divided into two camps: the Citizens (who do not know who is who) and the Mafia (who know the members of their team).

Each round consists of two main phases, Night and Day. During the Night, all players close their eyes. The Narrator wakes up the Mafia, who silently choose a player to eliminate. Then, the special roles wake up: the Detective can check a player's identity to find out if they are a Mafioso, while the Doctor can choose a player to protect from the Mafia's attack.

When morning comes, the Narrator announces which player was "eliminated" during the night. This is followed by the discussion phase, which is the most critical. The Citizens try to analyze the behavior of the others and identify the Mafiosos, while the Mafiosos themselves try to mislead the group. At the end of the day, a vote takes place and the player who receives the most votes leaves the game. The Citizens win if they manage to eliminate all members of the Mafia, while the Mafia wins if the number of its members equals the number of remaining Citizens.

It is a very nice game with many roles, the only downside is that if you are not at least 10 people, the roles are not utilized and with 6 players you play simple Palermo.

A night in Palermo simply with more roles.
To enjoy it, you MUST be many people... Otherwise, it's just an okay game, grab a deck of cards and deal the cards, you don't need such a set.

Endless hours of fun with this amazing game! Every round is different. I suggest using different characters each time instead of innocent civilians. This makes the game much more interesting. The only downside is that the game requires a lot of people to play (6+). I highly recommend it to everyone!

Okay, top fun party game. Endless summer nights, we gather around 3 tables as more people join, more roles are assigned, and the game takes off. We are around 12-15 and not all roles have been assigned yet, like journalist, etc. Epic confrontations and arguments as you have to tell many lies to convince others that you are just a regular citizen, but also lots of laughter.

The game requires cunning and manipulation of speech and movements in such a way that you don't raise suspicions when necessary. So you unleash all your cunning, disguises, and persuasion to succeed.

In my opinion, for the game to truly be good, players should be 17-18+ and have developed concepts like strategy, acting, "I'm taking you down" etc. that are needed to make it a good game. Ideal for large groups and be careful!!! Only in places where noise is allowed because it truly becomes chaotic. And oh, the things we've heard playing late at night in the square!! Hahaha

It's really worth it!!! Have fun!!

The game is awesome. It takes a little getting used to, but you quickly get the hang of it and have a great time. Compared to the classic Palermo with playing cards, the difference is that the action cards bring about big twists and the game is more interesting.

You need at least 7 people (the instructions say it can be played with 5-6, but it's not interesting). Especially for large groups, it's awesome because there are many roles.
