The Crime at Howard Johnson's is a representative American crazy farce-comedy, filled with plenty of effortless laughter, written by two titans of comedy, Sam Bobrick and Ron Clark.
A fast-paced comedy packed with suspense, overflowing with hilariously ridiculous murder plots involving a "femme fatale" woman, her mischievous husband, and her amorous lover. This wacky love triangle - reminiscent of characters from The Three Stooges or the Marx Brothers - visits the same hotel within a year, aiming to eliminate the third person in their relationship, posing the question to the audience: "Is everything fair in love? Even murder?"
Within the intensely humorous situations of this absurd farce, we watch the three, blunder-filled murder attempts planned by the characters in pairs, to kill the third hero. In the First Act, the wife and her lover attempt to kill the husband because he is an obstacle to their relationship. In the Second Act, the wife allies with her husband to murder the lover because it was revealed that he was unfaithful to her. In the Third Act, the husband and the lover, feeling betrayed and deceived, join forces and plan to kill the wife. Ultimately, will this attempt fail like the previous two, or not?
