for beginners it is a decent dj controller, beautiful construction, lightweight and I didn't even need to install the programs it suggested, I ran it with virtualDj and I was satisfied, I recommend it for a start..

For Easter in the village, we decided to throw a big party with lambs, etc., so I brought along the Sonos era 100 and thought I’d get a DJ controller too. For price reasons, I ended up with this one.

- Serato Dj lite - nice but no, also doesn’t play ogg
- djuced - Hercules’ official software is good but it seems to mess with tags and writes over the user’s actual files. Also, every hour or so, it crashes.
- mixx - so far the best, but you still can’t avoid at least one crash. I tried with 2 different laptops, both pretty powerful, 16GB RAM, 1TB, Ryzen 5800 and Ryzen 8845, but it still needs a bit more work.
- traktor dj - super, but if you don’t buy it with its own controller, it costs 150 euros and requires a lot of tinkering with midi files, etc.

- In the end, we settled on virtual dj. I had a version from 2016 somewhere, and since then it’s made huge progress, e.g., stems, super plugin for file organization, etc., but there’s no longer a free version for any DJ controller.

Negatives:
- The buttons feel a bit fake and plasticky
- The RCA outputs can barely handle a serious speaker, so I had to use Swyh-rs and although there’s a bit of lag, stream what you hear to a virtual adapter cable and from there to the Sonos era 100 and it works for the whole village
- Finally, for some stupid reason, the USB cable is built into the console, so if something happens to it, the whole console is trash

For its price of 120 euros, none of them are game changers. Well done, Hercules!

To start in the field of DJ-ing, I believe it is one of the top choices. I consider this specific controller to be more than satisfactory for its price. I have had it for almost 9 months and it is very good. Do not expect exceptional quality, as it is very simply made and basic. One thing I might want is for the sliding controls to be a bit heavier, especially the crossfader, as it can still be moved just by the headphone cable. Another possible downside is that when someone reaches a certain level where they can use hot cues, they may find them limited, although let's not forget the low price of the controller. Also, it is always good to transport it in its box or in a case, because I once carried it in a bag and I think I was lucky that the controller did not get damaged. Finally, many complain that it only has controls for high and low frequencies (treble & bass) and not for mid, but I believe that a mid control in a controller aimed at beginners is not necessary. In conclusion, I recommend it above to a beginner, as it is a good teacher to learn the basics.
