In 1881, Thessaly and part of Epirus, the province of Arta, were annexed to the Greek state. The aim of this work is to explore the parliamentary presence of the Thessalian deputies who represented the residents of Thessaly in the Hellenic Parliament during the first elections (1881) following the annexation of the area to the Greek national body.
This study investigates the stance they took in the discussions of the Parliament and their participation in issues concerning state administration, the problems of their region, and more generally, what their orientation was during a period of ideological and political ambiguity for the political forces of the Greek state.
