The Aquaphor Gross water filter housing is designed for mechanical filtration of cold mains water. It traps sediment such as sand and rust, and can enhance the performance of other filters used to purify drinking water. The plastic housing operates at temperatures from 5 °C to 38 °C and at a maximum pressure of 6 bar.

The housing can be connected to other Big Blue systems to add more filtration stages. The package includes a mounting bracket, a housing wrench and an air release valve, which releases air that builds up when the filter is changed.
