    It takes 2 AAA batteries and not the special ones for watches or thermometers. It also works with rechargeable batteries. The weighing base takes a small plate on top to weigh "difficult" items such as butter. It closes by itself. Its accuracy is good, we just have to wait 1 second for it to weigh correctly. I don't know how long it will last, but it is clearly better than the cheaper ones.
