I used it with a curved chisel, 25 centimeters by 4 centimeters wide, from DeWalt to strip a bathtub and remove it, which in the past they used to build around with bricks to install the tiles. Mixed impressions. I was hitting the seam to detach the brick, but if the mortar had set well, it struggled. It's not like you hit once and it would just come off. OK, it's not a demolition tool, but at least at the seams in the bricks, I expected a bit more. Also, it struggles on the brick itself if you hit it from the side to remove it. I think it will do something for electrician channels. But for heavier work, you need to go for something else. Now, with a narrower chisel or a needle, it might perform better.

Purchased in 2007, for professional use since then until today it has never complained and has taken a lot of beating, drills concrete with the right drill bits like butter, has been used to open columns and beams for repairs.
With proper Makita grease lubrication and blowing off the dust, your grandchildren will find this machine still running!

I use it amateurishly only on concrete, I made an awning in the village, every time I needed it, it drilled through the concrete very easily. It is a very good tool and with a set of drill bits for building materials you can do your job comfortably. The price is reasonable, I believe for an amateur it more than does the job, I would even dare to say that it can cover the needs of a semi-professional as well.

I have had it for over 6 months and I use it professionally, and it is worth every penny and more. I use a four-corner drill and so far I have not encountered any serious resistance.

I was looking for an SDS to make holes in my ceiling to hang rings/ a hammock chair/ curtains, etc. When drilling into concrete, the "trick" is not to push it hard but just to gently push it. At first, I was applying a lot of force and it struggled with the drilling, and I was getting much more tired.

I had a parkside drill which also paid off and I had no problem, but when the trigger broke, I couldn't find spare parts. From the first hole you make with the Makita, you understand why it has such a name. What can we say now? And its price is ridiculous from the moment you know it is one of the top companies. It's just not suitable for heavy drilling in concrete. It is powerful and lightweight for bricks. I recommend it with my eyes closed.

I have it for a year. I used it for wall demolition, to remove some tiles, and for holes in the wall (brick and concrete) and I was very satisfied. Time will show its durability.

This machine works very well, I have pushed it to its limits with wall demolitions using bricks and tile removal, flawless in every way.

The drill was used for multiple drillings in reinforced concrete with a double-edged drill bit of 20mm diameter at a depth of 30cm. It completed the job but struggled quite a bit and tired me out. The power is insufficient for such tasks and it shows.

In chiseling mode, things improve and it performs well. This classifies the drill in the light professional category. Do not expect it to perform if you are drilling concrete extensively and with a diameter larger than 15mm.

Really, a black dog and specifically for its money is a must-buy whether you are a professional or an amateur. It is lightweight, powerful, without strong vibrations despite not having anti-vibration technology and hard. It fell from 3 meters of stairs and it didn't even scratch. When I first used it, I felt foolish for all the years I struggled to drill a hole with other machines... It drills through tiles and beams effortlessly, without me even exerting pressure or breaking a sweat... I made the mistake of getting an adapter chuck to use my old drill bits. It had so much power that it screwed the bit into the wall! The adapter chuck was slipping around the round base of the bit, and I was afraid to remove it from the wall! Since then, only SDS bits for me!

I have had it for about 10 years and it works very well (for amateur work). I have drilled concrete very easily, for wood and iron it's not even a discussion, very comfortable. I have demolished a bathroom very easily without any difficulty. Overall, I am very satisfied.

You came here because you said it is 100€ cheaper than the Bosch ??? You will make a big mistake if you buy it, it is not as powerful as the Bosch and you will struggle

Very good tool indeed. One thing that bothers me a little is a circular switch that is sometimes pressed unintentionally by your thumb, causing the tool to lock and work continuously. So I don't know how safe it is (for now)... so with a little practice, you can avoid it
