For a long time, which is not yet over, neo-colonialism, the new form of economic, political, and cultural enslavement, continues to afflict the populations of the great continent. Even today, the old colonial powers intervene militarily in countries where they dislike the developments or their economic and general interests are threatened.
However, in reality, it is here that the arrogant European colonialism was defeated, which left a promising continent in stagnation for centuries. Despite the difficulties, it is developing economically. Twelve of its countries already have exploitable oil. Agriculture and animal husbandry, despite large pockets of misery, can feed four times as many inhabitants as in 1950, when all of Africa was steeped in misery.
It has not yet exhausted its natural resources. On the contrary, it is just beginning to cultivate this vast continent, rich in many areas. For these reasons, many say that the 21st century will be the century of Africa. Certainly, there are class, economic, national, cultural, and religious problems in every country. But there are also rivalries between states, even armed and bloody, just as in Europe and other parts of the world.
However, Africa is moving forward. Unfortunately, western media do not provide much information about the positive developments. They primarily broadcast images of misery, destitution, and hardship, so that the European, troubled by the current economic crisis, thinks that at least we are still better off.
